Famine Foods

In ancient times, when environmental conditions reduced the food supply, wise mahiʻai (farmers) knew which crops would grow back quickly and provide the most nourishment to their people, even with little rain. These same crops can be used today, to offset the effects of climate change and provide a backup plan when storms and other emergencies threaten our food security.
