This seasonal newsletter is dedicated to learning the wisdom of the ancient peoples who came before us. Our ancestors cared for the Earth through the lens of stewardship and a deep love and intuitive knowledge of every precious drop of water or gust of wind, every grain of sand, surface of rock or strand of seaweed, every speck of soil or intertwined root system of a tree and every rain, current, cloud, scent, sound and star that envelops the world around us. This inseparable connection sustained life for millenia.

This ʻŌlelo Noʻeau refers to a metaphor for how to approach life, as if we are all in one canoe paddling together, caring for our resources and for each other, with the same essential values that nurture the whole community rather than just the individual.
